St Marcel, in the area of Pezenas, was once the home of a wine merchant. Domaine à l'Aise built in 1850 has been converted into a small Chambre d'Hôte that exudes a French atmosphere. Evening meals available @ 28€ Less than 40 years ago, all five properties in the small hamlet of St Marcel were owned by a family of winemakers. Descendants of this family still live in the house opposite the Domaine and continue to work the vineyards that surround the hamlet. 12 years ago the previous owner began the conversion of a wine estate into a Chambre d'hote with five well-maintained and cosy bedrooms. Domaine a l'Aise is known for its family rustic style dining, honesty bar and the opportunity to experience various regional wines, along with its relaxed and easy atmosphere. Michael and Karen spent five years searching for their perfect new home in the south of France. Domaine a l'Aise has had guests return year after year to continue exploring everything that the Herault and Languedoc Roussillon have to offer. Ideally located for the beaches of Meze and beyond, the amazing medieval towns of Pezenas and Carcassonne, the Canal du Midi, many wine estates and much more, the Domaine a l'Aise sits on a hill, surrounded by vineyards and olive trees, with views over the beautiful valley of Plaissan. Just a 20 minute walk from the centre of Saint-Pargoire, Karen and Michael offer their guests the ideal chance to be transported back to the relaxed lifestyle of the winemakers, where a day begins with breakfast on the terrace and ends with a glass of wine at sunset, nothing has changed. There is a beautiful garden, outdoor greenhouse, terrace and a lounge for the exclusive use of guests. There is parking with video surveillance. Domaine a l'Aise has an authentic Roman Basin on its grounds with its own spring water source, where guests are encouraged to fill their own water bottles and perhaps have a chat with a villager who might fill his daily pitcher!
