Hello! We're delighted you're taking the time to discover Gîtes Clos Saint-Sauves. We'd be happy to welcome you to this – we'll say it ourselves ;-) – wonderful holiday destination. It's located at 1000 m altitude in the Parc Naturel Régional des Volcans d'Auvergne. In complete peace and quiet, at the end of a quiet lane in a small hamlet, La Cluze. There, in an old, original barn dating from 1890, we've set up 5 cosy and comfortable (***) holiday homes. They're all on the first floor, under the roof, above the old cowshed which we've converted into a multifunctional relaxation space. Each of the 5 holiday homes has its own private terrace overlooking the magnificent surroundings of the Sancy Massif. In one of the outbuildings, we've also set up 2 gites (**). They have direct access to the garden and face south. In the multifunctional space downstairs – pleasantly cool in summer and handy when the weather lets you down – there's time to socialise, have an aperitif, and enjoy billiards, darts, table football, air hockey, etc. The little ones have their own kids corner. In the infrared sauna you can relax after an active day trip. You can also cook in the professional kitchen if you're visiting with a larger group. Perfect for cooking together... and washing up together. This space also has a washing machine and tumble dryer available to all guests. Cots are also available on request. Outside there's a large garden and play area with equipment (swing, trampoline, darts, table tennis... ) and a cosy lounge/seating area. You can also always use the shared barbecue. Gîtes Clos Saint-Sauves is an ideal starting point for an active holiday in Auvergne, one of France's most beautiful yet undiscovered regions. The perfect place to spend an active or relaxing holiday. In every season. In spring and autumn you can enjoy wonderful walks, cycling and mountain biking. In summer you can go hiking in the mountains, cool off in a stream or one of the crater lakes, tackle a few mountain passes, try paragliding or visit one of the spa towns. In winter it's ideal for skiing, cross-country skiing, ice climbing, walking, sledging, husky sledding or enjoying a spot of wellness. Gîtes Clos Saint-Sauves can also be rented entirely for groups or families of up to 25 people. You'll have a separate professional kitchen at your disposal and in the large multifunctional space you can all eat together. There's also a lounge and plenty of space to relax (pool table, table football, air hockey, x-box, darts, ...).

About this room

Coquelicot. This is our smallest gîte (approximately 45m2). It is located at the back of the garden and has its own terrace and a garden, which you share with gîte Gentiane. You look out over our vegetable garden and the surrounding fields. On the south-facing terrace, you enjoy sunshine all day long, crickets and peace and quiet.... The parents' bedroom (double bed) is located on the ground floor next to the living room. Upstairs there is a small charming mezzanine with a single bed and a double bed. Can be rented together with gîte La Gentiane for a group or family of up to max. 10 people. Gentiane is our other gite located just next to Coquelicot. This gite (55m2) for 4-5 people has the same garden as gîte Coquelicot with a private terrace and looks out over the vegetable garden and the Sancy Massif. Lovely to have breakfast in the sunny, spacious living room or on the terrace. There are 2 bedrooms on the ground floor (1 with a double bed and a 2nd with a single bed and 1 bunk bed). The kitchen offers all the comforts for cooking your own meals. Can be rented together with Coquelicot for a group or family of up to max. 10 people.

Gentiane is our other gite in the back garden, located right next to Coquelicot. This gite (55m2) for 4 people has a small garden that is somewhat separated from the communal garden. It also has a private terrace and looks out over our vegetable garden and the Sancy Massif. Lovely for breakfast in the sunny, spacious living room or on the terrace. There are 2 bedrooms on the ground floor (1 with a double bed and a second with 2 single beds). The kitchen offers all the comforts for cooking yourself. Can be rented together with Coquelicot for a group of up to 8 people.

    We waren hier een tweede keer (vorige keer 2025) en het was weer zeer leuk voor de 2 kinderen (11 en 13). Maar we hebben ook genoten van de vele aangename hoekjes, het mooie domein, de boeken en de vele spelletjes. Een aanrader

Voor de kindjes is er vanalles te doen zowel binnen als buiten. Eveneens is er zeer veel te doen in de buurt, mooie wandelingen in de bergen, leuke watervallen...

Een derde vakantie in Clos Saint Sauves is voor ons een beetje thuiskomen. We vertrekken onmiddellijk de eerste dag van ons verlof, leggen de 800km af en laten ons met veel genoegen onderdompelen in de oase van rust en natuur. Véronique en Koen zijn niet alleen goede gastvrouw en -heer maar ook een beetje vrienden geworden. Niets geforceerd, authentiek, leuke babbels maar immer attent. Dit jaar hebben ze ons echt wel verrast met een heerlijk ontbijt buiten onder de dikke esboom.

Toplocatie! Prachtig domein waar het gezellig en rustig vertoeven is: heel veel sfeervolle hoekjes om tot rust te komen (lounges, hangmat, ligstoelen) en tevens veel mogelijkheden om je te amuseren (tafelvoetbal, pingpong, petanque, badminton, pooltafel, speeltuintje, trampoline) Gîtes zijn voorzien van alles wat je nodig hebt. Heb je toch een vraag dan zijn Koen en Veronique altijd in de buurt om je verder te helpen. Zeer zorgzame, warme mensen die hun gasten graag in de watten leggen en een topverblijf aanbieden!

Desondanks het weer een grote spelbreker was hebben wij enorm genoten van deze heerlijke getaway! Zalige bedden, appartement voorzien van alle comfort, fantastisch mooie streek die we zeker nog verder willen komen ontdekken. En super hosts met een gouden randje!

Afgelopen augustus brachten we twee heerlijke weken door in Clos Saint Sauves, bij Koen en Véronique, gelegen in het hart van de prachtige Auvergne. Wat een ontdekking! Deze plek is een absolute aanrader voor gezinnen met kinderen die op zoek zijn naar rust, natuur én avontuur. De gîtes zijn charmant en kindvriendelijk ingericht, met overal op het domein speelhoekjes waar kinderen zelfstandig kunnen spelen en ontdekken. Onze kinderen waren dol op het aanbod: badminton, biljart, kicker, voetbal, darts, een speelhuisje, zandbak, trampoline – verveling was simpelweg geen optie. De honden van de eigenaars waren bovendien ontzettend lief en kindvriendelijk, wat voor extra gezelligheid zorgde. Wat ons als ouders vooral opviel, was hoe goed het domein is ingericht: veilig, overzichtelijk en met veel schaduwrijke plekjes om te ontspannen. Er zijn verschillende hoekjes waar je rustig kan zitten, een boek lezen of genieten van de opkomende of ondergaande zon. Dankzij deze opzet konden wij als ouders ook echt tot rust komen. Een extra troef is de ontbijtformule: je kiest zelf hoe je je eitje gebakken wil, en op warme zomerochtenden kan je heerlijk buiten ontbijten in de grote tuin. De gastheer en gastvrouw zijn warm, toegankelijk en geven met plezier tips over de omgeving. De omgeving van Clos Saint Sauves is ronduit schitterend. We vonden elke dag wel een leuke uitstap op minder dan een uur rijden: van gezellige marktjes en pittoreske dorpjes tot indrukwekkende wandelingen in het vulkanengebied. Zelfs na twee weken hadden we het gevoel dat er nog zoveel te ontdekken viel. Op warme dagen was het nabijgelegen meertje een verfrissende uitkomst. Kortom: Clos Saint Sauves is een ideale uitvalsbasis voor gezinnen die houden van natuur, rust en kindvriendelijke activiteiten. Wij kwamen volledig ontspannen terug en kijken nu al uit naar een volgend verblijf!

We verbleven met ons gezin (drie kinderen van 5, 5 en 9 jaar) in Clos Saint-Sauves en kijken terug op een bijzonder geslaagde vakantie. Het verblijf was ruim, kraaknet en comfortabel ingericht – perfect aangepast aan gezinnen met kinderen die graag ravotten, ontdekken en tegelijk ook wat rust kunnen gebruiken. Koen en Veronique verwelkomden ons bijzonder hartelijk. Hun aanpak is warm en behulpzaam zonder opdringerig te zijn: ze stonden altijd klaar met een tip voor een leuke uitstap, een goede markt of een verborgen parel in de streek, maar gaven ons ook alle ruimte om gewoon te genieten van het verblijf en de prachtige omgeving. En die omgeving is ronduit schitterend: we verkenden vulkanen, beklommen de Puy de Sancy, wandelden langs watervallen, zwommen in meren, bezochten een typisch Frans folklorefeest en bouwden dammen in riviertjes. De kinderen leerden bovendien andere vakantiegangers kennen en speelden elke avond met veel plezier samen in de tuin. Clos Saint-Sauves is een ideale uitvalsbasis voor wie houdt van natuur, rust en kindvriendelijk avontuur. Het uitzicht op de heuvels en bossen rondom is adembenemend en de sfeer op het domein is even gemoedelijk als verzorgd. Wij keren alvast met veel mooie herinneringen én een glimlach terug naar huis. Samengevat: Clos Saint-Sauves is zo’n plek die je met moeite op een kaart vindt, maar voor altijd in je hoofd en hart blijft zitten

Aangename gite met ruime tuin en gezellige overdekte zithoekjes. Zeer vriendelijke uitbaters en niet duur. Een echte oase voor iemand die rust zoekt. Het aangeboden ontbijt is ook een aanrader. Wij gaan zeker nog eens terug!
