Greetings, Patrick & Cathy Our apartment is located in the Solario da Praia residence, in the village of Armação de Pêra (right in the middle of the Algarve). It is an apartment with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with toilet, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine, Sunny terrace, shared swimming pool and parking space in underground garage. The apartment has all necessary facilities, bed and bath linen, (change depending on length of stay) air conditioning, WiFi and television with TV Vlaanderen. All of this is included in the rental price, as well as utilities and final cleaning. Solario da Praia is located 700m from the beach and the walking promenade of Armação de Pêra. The centre, with supermarkets, is also within walking distance of the apartment. 500m from the apartment you will find a daily market where you can buy fresh fish, meat, vegetables and fruit. On Wednesday and Saturday is the big market and farmers from the interior also come with their local products. Since the 1960s, Armação de Pêra developed into a popular seaside resort for the Portuguese. This is probably due to the kilometre-long sandy beach that stretches to the east. In recent years, the western side, with charming, mostly quiet beaches hidden between high rocks, has also been taken over mainly by more upscale hotels and luxury resorts. Besides the long beach, with all kinds of water sports opportunities and a quiet seaside walk, you will find cosy restaurants and bars in the old part of Armação de Pêra (with a car-free street). You will notice that fishermen have not completely disappeared from the daily scene, part of the beach is still occupied by colourful fishing boats. You can therefore be sure that the local market offers a rich supply of fresh fish daily. Near Armação de Pêra there are many beautiful villages (such as Carvoeiro with wooden walking paths on top of the rocks) and a little further inland, you will find the historic city of Silves, with its Moorish fortress walls and castle. There are about 4 golf courses within a radius of 10 km and the larger cities Portimao, known for the supply of sardines, and Albufeira are also quickly accessible from here. The climate is very pleasant all year round.
